Benedict Edwin Hartlaub Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Benedict Edwin Hartlaub of McSherrystown, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2026 at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jospeh A. Hartlaub and Treva E. Hartlaub (Lynart); his siblings, Jean Huff (Rich), Joseph Hartlaub (Gwen), Catherine Selvage (Bob), Marguerite Wagaman (Philip), Thomas Hartlaub, Gerard Hartlaub (Sylvia), Michael Hartlaub (Linda) and Philip Hartlaub; and his stepson Anthony Kahlbaugh (Margie).

He is survived by: his wife Katie (Smith); his children, Doug Hartlaub (Susan) and Sandy Smay (Brian); his stepchildren, Jeffrey Kahlbaugh (Karin) and Kim Bethas (Steve "Doc"); and his sister Diane Miller (Bill). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
