He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Riser, Sr. and Catherine Mary Riser (Ackerman); and his siblings, Melvin Riser, Richard Riser, Sr., Rose Zartman and Rita Wagaman.

He is survived by: his wife Loretta B. Riser (Lawrence); his children, Teresa Etzler (Ed), Ann Brown (Dwayne) and Joseph Riser (Nicci); his grandson Dwayne; his great grandchild Kaiden John Brown; and his siblings, Robert Riser, James Riser, Mary Allison, Donna Merrifield and Barbara Pate. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
