He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jay and Thelma L. Stimely Sr. (Clark). He is survived by: his wife Nedra L. Stimely (Buchta); his children, Gary G. Stimely Jr. (Andrea) of McClure and Sherry K. McKay (Mark) of Lewistown; his brothers, John Jay Stimely Jr. (Connie) of Mt. Union and Thomas L. Stimely (Sheree) of McVeytown; his grandchildren, Phillip Stimely (Alyssa), Kierna Miller (Damon), Blaise Roush, Mackenzie Roush, Tiahna Pollock (Joshua), Colton Roush and Takira Stimely; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Ethan, Alyvia, Oliver and Jaxtyn.
