He was predeceased by: his parents, William Boyd (Happy) and Esther Ann Harshbarger Wertz; his former wife Beverly Arlene Miller; his son Lyle Edward; and his grandson Morgan Blair Wertz.
He is survived by: his wife Dawn Pettyjohn Fields; his children, Barbara Howard (Max), Amy Wertz and Gary Wertz (Iris); his stepdaughters, Leigh Ann Kurz (Richard) and Yvonne Boozel (Steve); and his sisters-in-law, Violet Wertz, Ellen Miller, Darlene (Judy) and Rynkewitz (Stephen). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the McVeytown United Methodist Church (3 S Queen St, Mcveytown, PA 17051).
