He was predeceased by: his parents, Zollie Brown and Helen Brown (Davis); his children, Nina Forbes and Charles; and his siblings, Helen Brown, Lois Bundy, Michael Brown, Charles Brown and Zollie Brown, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Miller); his stepchildren, Antoinette Phillips, Samirah Abdulghani, Naeemah Abdul-Rashed, Ayesha Saddique, Nathaniel Phillips, Halimah Rashida, Jerome Phillips, Beverly Scarlett and Eugene Phillips; his grandchildren, Jason, Jessica and Jennifer; and his sisters, Sara Warfield and Ann Brown. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
