He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene A. Thompson and Doris C. Thompson (Johns); his wife Lois Ann Thompson (Toms); and his sister Patricia Blubaugh. He is survived by: his children, Richard Thompson, II (Terri) of Olathe, KS and Beth Fetzner (David) of Zions View, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and two nephews.
