He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Franklin Gilbert; and his brother Allen Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne "Sue" Gilbert (Hancock); his sons, William "Bill" Gilbert, Jr. (Julie) of Mechanicsburg and Robert "Rob" Gilbert (Lori) of Ephrata; his granddaughters, Carly and Anya Gilbert; and his brother James "Jim" Gilbert (Nancy) of State College. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
