Shugarts (Robert) of North Carolina and Richard A. Rand (Cynthia) of Maryland; and his grandchildren, Keith Shugarts (Leia), Craig Shugarts (Joy), Melissa Niehoff (Peter), Stacie Rand (Gavin Houseman) and Ryan Rand. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
