It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Wilson Oakey of Media, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Dick Oakey. She is survived by: her sons, Richard C. Oakey and John W. Oakey; her daughter-in-law Sheetal Sehgal; her granddaughters, Luna and Joy; and her siblings, Ann Wilson of Tacoma, WA and W. Scott Wilson of Beaverton, OR..

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joy to the First Church Media (350 W State St, Media, PA 19063).

“I am so sorry to hear that Joy has died. I worked with her for many years at Crozer, and often saw her walking in Media after we retired. To me Joy personified joie de vie. Whether she was covering the soap box derby as a member of "the press", out running an errand, or talking with friends, she enjoyed life. She looked for the good in people and the world, and laughed at the absurdities. She will be missed by so many people. I will keep Joy and her family in my prayers.”
