He is survived by: his pet Buddy; his wife Ruth Fricker Smith; his children, Robert J. Smith Jr. (Anita) and Christina Fitzpatrick (Carl); his grandson Michael Smith; and his sisters, Marie Rice and Joan Fiordiomondo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
