She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Shoop, Sr. and Maxine Elizabeth Shoop (Kershner); her significant other Donald E. Hetzer; and her brother Robert L. Shoop, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Stephen C. Hetzer (Alva) and Jeffrey L. Hetzer (Lisa); her siblings, Linda J. Newton, Ronald G. Shoop, Michael E. Shoop and David L. Shoop; her grandchildren, Stephanie Hetzer, Hayden Hetzer and Riley Hetzer; and her stepgrandchildren, Michaela Gross, Gavin Gross and Daytona Pague. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Martha Jane Hetzer to Morris Frock American Legion Unit 42 Auxiliary, 405 Northern Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742.
