He was predeceased by: his parents, James E Burgess and Ethel Burgess (Flanagan). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn C. Butts (Jodun); his son Michael C. Butts; his daughter-in-law Zinata Butts; his grandchildren, Amerycal, Fabian (Felicity), Raven (Chaz) and Samurai; his great grandchildren, Demetrius, Javian, Gianni, Addison and Rémi; his daughters, Debbie Gron (Joe), Peaches Burgess Welton (Tom), Shelly Jodun-Crandall (Rod) and Gwendolyn Styers; his sibling's children, Carl Shifflett (Sandy) and Tonya Ricketts; his grandchildren, Stephen Jodun (Nory) and Danielle Styers; and his great grandchildren, Asia-Monet, Stephen, Isaiah, Reign, Ahkira and Avanni.
A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
