He was predeceased by: his parents, John I. Burkett, Jr. and Leda R. Burkett (Kern); and his siblings, Vaughn I. Burkett, Raymond Burkett and Debra L. Donnelly.

He is survived by: his wife Debra D. Burkett (Brinser); his children, Jessica D. Cleland (Eric) of Middletown, Kelly D. Stephens of Harrisburg and Kevin L. Stephens of Hershey; his brother John I. Burkett, III; and his grandson Conner L. Cleland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Chapel, 630 S. Union St., Middletown, PA 17057 or to the American Cancer Society, 112 Sipe Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17036.
