He was predeceased by: his father Tom Strait. He is survived by: his mother Debra Strait; his wife Melissa; his daughters, Lacy and Jana; his sister Jennifer Zimmerman (Kent); and his sibling's children, Cole, Dane Zimmerman, Mitchell, Ryley Novinger and Chloe Novinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Millersburg American Legion post 326.
