He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald E. Kaler and Verona E. Kaler (Fluman); his former life partner Carol L. Kaler; and his brother Ronald Kaler. He is survived by : his fiancé LouAnn Tarlecky of Millville; his children, Tracy J. McVicker (William) of Germantown, NY, Matthew J. Kaler (Noelle) of Owings Mills, MD and Jennifer A. Kelly (Brad) of Chincoteague Island, VA; his grandchildren, Will McVicker (Amanda), Tara Lynn McVicker, Heather Westlund (Nelsson), Zachary McVicker, Abigail McVicker, Logan Kaler, Morgan Kaler, Samantha Kelly and Jack Thomas Kelly; his great grandchildren, Liam McVicker and Aiden McVicker; and his siblings, Richard Kaler (Paula) of Rome, IN, Ralph Kaler of Roswell, NM, Linda Kline (Dick Fry) of Montoursville and Lynette Hock (Dale) of Millville.

“Tom was a kind and gentle man who was a joy to have as a next door neighbor. He would often wave to me from his house if I were outside and yell over "Hello, Amelia Bedelia!" Since I was friends with Jen, eating at their home for dinner brought the usual comment from Tom, "Amy, I hope you like liver and onions."
