He was predeceased by : his parents, Roland R. Carr and Evelyn Carr (Ritter); his wife Carole Brown; his son Robert W. Carr; and his siblings, Sam Carr, James Carr and Mary Kearney.

He is survived by : his children, Max W. Carr of Belvidere, NC, Ann M. Merwede of Colorado Springs, CO, Harry F. Carr of Virginia Beach, VA and John J. Carr of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
