He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Atkins and Florence Atkins (Kula); his wife Gladys Atkins (Behanna); his son Dale W. "Bush" Atkins; and his siblings, Donald Atkins and Dorothy Lowsutter.
He is survived by: his son Ronald D. (Sandy Atkins) of Carroll Township; his grandchildren, Kory Atkins (Rachel Averett) and Alyse Abel (Willis); and his great grandchildren, Dean and Connor.
