He was predeceased by: his wife Colleen S. Kovach (Murphy); his parents, Rose Kovach (Orosz) and John Kovach; and his siblings, William Kovach, Rose Kelmeckis (Kovach), Edward Kovach and John Kovach.
He is survived by: his children, Bryan D. Kovach (Julie), James D. Kovach Jr. (Sue) and Susan Kovach; his grandchildren, Ariel, Marissa, Megan, Jordan, Bethany, Elijah, Nathaniel, David, Dexter and Deklon; his great grandchildren, Casey, Ely, Addy, Nellie, Levi, Magnolia and Amadeo; and his brother Robert Kovach.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel Inc. (4335 Northern Pike, Monroeville, PA 15146). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernadette Church (245 Azalea Dr, Monroeville, PA 15146).
