He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Smith and Ila Smith (Wolfe); his wife Lois Smith (Hitt); his daughter Diane Susan Smith; and his sister Betty Dempsey.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Dolores "Dee" Hitt; his niece Tosadori (Chris); and his nephew David Hitt (Tammy).
