He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Byer and Ethel Byer; his son Michael Byer; his wife Carole Stern Byer; his siblings, Irving Byer and Sharron Hyman; his children, Beth Friedman (Alan), Marc Byer (Victoria) and Cindy Weiss; his grandchildren, Erica Remi (Sebastian), Jeremy Friedman (Laura), Todd Friedman and Amber Weiss; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Mia Remi, Joshua and Ari Friedman. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
