Edwin A. Neumann, a beloved teacher, coach, and community member, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at his home in Morrisville, PA. Born on March 25, 1942, in Trenton, New Jersey, Edwin dedicated over 30 years of his life to teaching health and physical education within the Bristol Township School District, shaping the lives of countless students and student athletes, while inspiring a love for fitness, wellness and sports.
A lifelong resident of Bucks County, he served as the class president of Morrisville High School's class of 1960, where he was also the captain of the football team, and an all-Lower Bucks County football selection. Edwin is also a member of the Morrisville High School Hall of Fame. After graduation, he attended East Stroudsburg University, where he continued to play football and received his teaching degree in Health and Physical Education. He later was awarded his master's degree in health and physical education from Trenton State college.
Throughout his career, he embraced a commitment to education and athletics that went far beyond the classroom. A proud member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, Edwin also was a member of and later served as a committee member of the Bristol Township School District Athletic Hall of Fame. His enthusiastic involvement extended onto the field, where he began coaching football in the mid 1960's. His coaching journey took him through various esteemed institutions, including Bishop Egan High School, Archbishop Wood High School, Woodrow Wilson High School (Truman High School), Neshaminy High School, and Delaware Valley College. One of his most cherished experiences was during his retirement coaching his grandsons in the Lower Makefield Youth Football Program, a testament to his unwavering passion for nurturing young talent.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Edwin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and travel, often embarking on adventures with his late wife, Mary C. Neumann (nee Marrazzo), including vacationing during summers in Long Beach Island, NJ and winters in West Palm Beach, FL. Their memories together remain a source of comfort and warmth for his family.
Edwin is survived by his loving family, including his son Edwin A. and daughter-in-law Pamela Neumann, and his son Daniel A. and daughter-in-law Jennifer Neumann. He is also mourned by his sister, Mary Ann Carlsen (nee Neumann), and found solace in the presence of his eight grandchildren: Cassandra, Joseph, Thomas, Rebecca, Ellie, Daniel, Andrew, and Matthew. Their laughter echoed in his heart, as did the joy that his seven great-grandchildren brought to his life: Sophie, Tommy, Oliver, Emmie, Savannah, Gavin, and Harper.
Edwin is also survived by many relatives and close friends, all of whom will carry a piece of his spirit in their hearts. The family also expresses heartfelt gratitude to their family doctor, Scott Adler, for the many years of loving care he provided to Edwin.
Visitation services will be held on January 30, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, located at 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA. A second visitation will take place at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church on January 31, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM. Edwin will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA.
As family and friends gather to remember Edwin A. Neumann, they will celebrate a life devoted to teaching, coaching, and loving—a legacy that will forever inspire those he touched.
