He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard S. and Mary Gnagey Jefferis; his son Michael John Maslowski, Jr. (Demi); and his siblings, Leonard "Jeff" Jefferis and Leona Jefferis.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie Tipton Jefferis; his children, Edgar Lee Jefferis, II (Marianne), Melissa Ann Jefferis Haywood (Mark) and Steven Ellis Jefferis (Christine); and his siblings, Marie Cooper, Sally Morro, Walt Jefferis and Katherine "Kay" Browne. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
He grew his hair and every four years he would donate it to Wigs for Kids.
