He was predeceased by: his father Sam Pitta; and his brothers, Sonny Duda and Terry Pitta. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Kakareka; his son Joe; his daughter-in-law Tiffany Pitta; his grandchildren, Alivia and Benny; his mother-in-law Eleanor Kakareka; his nieces, Tara Gatto and Tracy Rosado; and his nephew Terry Pitta. He is also survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
