He was predeceased by: his parents, John O'Malley and Mary O'Malley (Ruane); his brother Thomas O'Malley; his in-laws, Marguerite and Jerome Donahue; and his brother-in-law Jerry Donahue.

He is survived by: his wife Joan M. Donahue; his daughter Erin O'Malley (Ross Homentosky) of Eynon; his brother Joseph O'Malley; his siblings-in-law, Marguerite, Dominick Famularo of Carbondale, Thomas, Kristine Donahue of Naperville and Dorothy O'Malley; and his nieces and nephews, Marissa, Ciarán McHugh, Jennifer Donahue, Jonathan Donahue, Emma, Eric Perego and Ryan Donahue. He is also survived by extended family members, and friends.
