He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Thoman and Ruth Thoman (Tidd); and his great grandchild Sophie. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Backus; his sons, Ronald H. Thoman Jr. (Michelle), Robert Thoman (Theresa) and Gary Thoman (Jill); and his grandchildren, Ronald, Alexandra, Christina, Heather, Chelsea, Gary II and Cailie. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
