With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn S. Kottmeyer of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 17, 2025 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Nuss and Vivian Nuss (Yohe); her husband Richard E. Kottmeyer; and her sister Suzanne Kissinger. She is survived by: her children, Karen Kaiser (Mark) of Lancaster and Richard J. Kottmeyer of Mount Joy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604.

“Mrs. Kottmeyer was my kindergarten teacher at Buchanan Elementary in 1970. She was a wonderful woman and teacher! I have many memories of her greeting me each morning, playing the piano and singing daily. She made and gifted each student with a ceramic angel that year. I still have my angel in my hutch 55 years later and think of her whenever I see the angel. Rest in peace, Mrs. Kottmeyer. Carly Danz”
