He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Avers and Wanda Avers (Lantz); his grandparents, George Wanamaker Avers, Cloria Avers, Robert Lantz and Lena M. Lantz (Gank); and his siblings, Douglas, James Avers and Carol Daugherty.
He is survived by: his wife Della Avers (Tranum); his children, Melinda (Jason Karns) of Dillsburg and Jerry Avers Jr. (Hannah Avers) of Mountville; his grandchildren, Karli Karns, Tori Karns, Elliana Avers, Asher and Ezra Avers; and his brother Dennis Avers (Gwen Avers) of Mount Joy.
