He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Shonk and Verna W. Kline Shonk; his sisters, Patsy Shonk, Shirley Merkey and Gladys Shenk; and his grandson Jeremy Metzler.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Bullock Shonk; his children, Dawn Houff (Robert) of Elizabethtown, Douglas Shonk (Jeanette Kline) of Brandy Station, VA., Cathy Hower of Mount Joy and Colleen Metzler of Middletown; his stepchildren, Sherry McClurkin of Tucson, AZ., Christine McClellan (Allen) of Frederick, MD and Troy Anderson (Christy Cogan) of Scottsdale, AZ.; his sister Lorraine Nolt (Luke) of Manheim; his granddaughter Emily Edwards (Greg) of Nellysford, VA.; and his stepgrandchildren, Griffin Anderson of Philadelphia, PA., Jill Airey (Josh) of Point, Brendan Anderson (Brittany Adams) of Raleigh, NC. and Kenneth Thomas of Frederick, MD..
