He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kauffman and Magdalene Kauffman. He is survived by: his wife Diane (Sofranko); his children, Elizabeth McKinney (Galen) and Michael Kauffman (Jess); his grandchildren, Ellen, Malia, Clara and Colton; and his sister Kathy Detar (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
