He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse C. Smillie and Nora M. Smillie. He is survived by : his wife Joan I. Smillie; his children, Jesse C. Smillie (Dawn) and Amanda M. Hardik (Andrew); his siblings, Donald Smillie and Tammie Smillie; his grandchildren, Lilly Hardik, George Smillie, Drew Hardik and Jacob Smillie; his siblings-in-law, George W. Tompkins, Jr., Patrick W. Tompkins, Betsy Reynolds and Bonnie Diehl; and his aunt Edith Albright. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kepple Graft Funeral Home (524 N Main St, Greensburg, PA 15601).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forbes Road Christian Fellowship.
