He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hershberger and Irene Petrosky Hershberger; his children, Shawn Hershberger and Jennifer; and his siblings, Charles, David and Nancy.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Lauffer Hershberger; and his son Joshua Hershberger. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
