He was predeceased by: his parents, George I. Smith, Sr. and Doris Smith (Hummel); and his son George I. Smith III. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Michelle Lawson of Wapwallopen and Chad Smith of Mountain Top; his brother Gary Smith; his granddaughters, Stephanie, Kiara, Erin and Coray; and his great grandchildren, Merrick, Jayson, Knox and Ryder.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Yeosock Funeral Home (40 S Main St, Plains, PA 18705).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Allied Services, 200 South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
