He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Downey, Sr. and Madge Downey (Fitzpatrick); his former wife Virginia Coleman Downey; his daughter Anne Downey; and his siblings, Earl "Sonny" Downey, Archie Downey, Jr. and Marge Lambert.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Anstadt Downey of Muncy; his children, Keith Downey (Susan) of Muncy, Steven Downey (Tamara) of Muncy, Chris Downey (Kristin) of Muncy, Jordan Downey of Williamsport, Douglas Lockard of Montoursville and Heather Hiller (Todd) of Muncy; and his grandchildren, Steve Downey (Lauren), Jennifer Downey (Lori), Cameron Downey (Daisy), Joshua Downey (Alycia), Shawn Downey (Mandy), Ashley Heckrote (Robert), Jason Willits (Danielle), Sarah Hahn (Chad) and Ryan Downey (Amanda). He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
