He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas C. Bitler and Grace Ida Bitler Houseweart (Pickard); and his brother-in-law Marvin Charles, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Doris Bitler (Effie) of Muncy; his daughters, Jaime Bitler of Hughesville and Jackie Minier of Benton; his granddaughters, Kaylee Shoemaker (Brandon) and Kiah Minier (John Brothers); and his siblings-in-law, Roger Charles (Jeannie), Dwight Charles (Jodie), Mark Charles, Jay Charles (Michele) and Cheryl Charles. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
