He was predeceased by: his wife Frances M. Zegar (Falchetti); his parents, John Zegar and Cecelia Zegar (Grubić); and his siblings, Agnes, Elizabeth, Dorothy and Joe.
He is survived by: his children, Valerie Prosser (Raymond), Robert Zegar (Nancy) and Catherine Hunter (Jeffrey); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Steven, Katie Prosser, Allison (Nick Tortorici), Thomas (Audrey), Matthew Zegar, Ryan and Ethan Hunter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pittsburgh Mercy's Operation Safety Net or the Little Sisters of the Poor.
