He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Joe" Bence and Nora Connor Bence; and his brothers, Charles "Bobby" Bence and John "Jack" Bence. He is survived by: his wife Rose Ann "Cookie" Bence (Teets); his children, James Bence (Jacqueline) and Deborah Morgan (Michael); and his sister Helen Marie Cleary. He is also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
