He was predeceased by: his mother Eleanor "Elly" Scheible. He is survived by: his wife Susan Scheible (Gable); his children, Jason Scheible (Kimberly), Crystal Patton (Jonathan) and Justin Scheible (Sarah); his grandchildren, Jacob, Lilly, Ben, Mark, Miranda and Charlie; and his brother Michael Scheible. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
