He was predeceased by: his parents, Janet Nelson (Schoeneman) and James Nelson; and his sister Debbie Nelson. He is survived by: his fiancée Laura May; his children, Lauren M. Nelson, Heidi L. Nelson and Michael R. Nelson II; and his siblings, Janet Zwitch (late Flo) and Jimmy Nelson.
