He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard M. Dobrowolski and Helen Dobrowolski (Drobka); his son Kevin Dobrowolski; and his brother Dr. Richard Dobrowolski. He is survived by: his wife Karen L. Dobrowolski (Dugan); his children, Beth Dobrowolski of Templeton and Ryan Dobrowolski (Jackie) of Roosevelt, UT; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Emma, Katie, Bella and Colton; his stepdaughter Kristy Dugan of New Kensington; and his pets, Tesla and Skye.

Also surviving is his brother Dr. Rodney (Caroline) Dobrowolski, of Whitehall, step daughter Shannon (Ed) Dugan-Santelli, of Natrona Heights, who gave him 10 extra years if life with a liver donation.
