Pauline Basenese Obituary
With deep love and cherished memories, the family of Pauline A. Basenese, 85, of Nazareth, formerly of East Stroudsburg, announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Alexandria Manor in Nazareth.
She was the devoted wife of the late Dominick Louis Basenese, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage—a bond filled with laughter, faith, and family.
Born in Morristown, New Jersey, Pauline was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Covert and was lovingly raised by her aunts, Mary Ernst and Julia Puco, to whom she was forever grateful.
Pauline worked for many years as an executive secretary with Howmet Aerospace in Dover, New Jersey, and was a devoted member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Family was the center of Pauline's world. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She was deeply involved in her grandchildren's lives—cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, hosting countless sleepovers, and creating cherished family memories on vacations.
Pauline was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, often gathered around her kitchen table sharing coffee, laughter, and stories. She also loved shopping trips to Lancaster or the mall and delighted in feeding everyone who walked through her door—especially enjoying the Italian dishes prepared by Dominick. No one ever left her home hungry or without feeling loved.
Her warmth, generosity, and kind spirit touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy of love and family will live on in all who were blessed to be part of her life.
Pauline is survived by her sons, Dominick (Brenda) and John; grandchildren, Brittney, Dominick, Robert, Nicholas, Justin, and Caitlyn; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Vivian; and siblings, Christine, John, Joseph, Helen, Maryann, and William. She was preceded in death by her siblings Russell and Susan.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N. 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery, 501 Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
