He was predeceased by: his parents, Winifred McMurtrie and Calvin "Dale" McMurtrie; and his siblings, Arlo McMurtrie (Linda), Barry McMurtrie (Donna), Janet Kline (Royce) and Dorothy LaRock (Donald).
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda M. Smith (Roland "Scott") and Teresa F. Steele (Robert); the mother of his children Ruth McMurtrie; his grandchildren, Stacey Fulkersin (Chad), Bethanne Turse (Nicholas) and Cody Smith; his wife Helen McMurtrie (Long); and his siblings, Donald McMurtrie (Sandra) of Homosassa, FL, Lloyd "Bud" McMurtrie (Shirley) of Fairport, NY, Shirley Neperski, Gladys Nevis and Audrey Bower. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Heller Funeral Home (633 E 3rd St, Nescopeck, PA 18635). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
