He was predeceased by: his parents, Blaine E. Short and Marie Olivia Short (Doctor); his daughter Beverly Converse; his granddaughter Julia Converse; his great grandchildren, Riley and Brooklyn; and his sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his daughter Barbara Beatty (David) of New Brighton; his grandchildren, Blaine L. Short (Randi), LeeAnna Arnold (Edward), Jamie Deafenbaugh (Shane Ziolkowski) and Cheyenne Beatty (Angel); his stepgrandsons, David Beatty Jr. (Jennifer) and Timothy Beatty (April); his great grandchildren, Paxton, Zephan, Delaney, Johnathan, Faith, Regan, Colton, Jacob, Tanner and Jackson; and his sisters, Jeanne, Linda, Marion and Elaine.
