It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis J. Hooks (New Brighton, Pennsylvania), who passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Wyant and Florence Wyant (Schaeffer); her husband Elmer H. Hooks; her siblings, Louise Kammerdiener, Betty Zajac, Eleanor Weaver, Shirley Toy, Lois Jordan and Kenneth Wyant; her daughter-in-law Linda Hooks; and her pet Sir Ginger Snap.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Hooks and Jacqueline Smith (Bruce); her grandchildren, Steven Hooks (Rebecca), Diane Smith (Peter), Brandea Shaffer (Zach), Joshua Smith and Jennie Smith; her great grandchildren, Olivia, Noah, Heaven, Arielle, Sadie and Alexia; and her sister Barbara Manifest. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J&j Spratt Funeral Home (1612 3rd Ave, New Brighton, PA 15066). The lying in state will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Life Family Church (1810 Valley Ave, New Brighton, PA 15066). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
