It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marlene Ruth McFarland (New Castle, Pennsylvania), who passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John Benjamin McFarland (Ben); her parents, Samuel Smith Irwin and Ruth Millicent Gibson Irwin; and her sisters, Eleanor Irwin Bonner and Marjorie Irwin Herr.
She is survived by: her daughters, Michelle McFarland Soltis (Brian), Susan McFarland Bechtol (Bradley) and Nancy McFarland McCaskey (Theodore); her grandchildren, Matthew Bechtol, Timothy (TJ), Lyndsey McCaskey Goddard (Adam), Amber Bechtol Seivers (Jerrod), Elise McCaskey Merkich (Scott), Benjamin Bechtol, Colbi Chambers (Merrick Jensen), Macy Soltis Coiro (Biagio), Alexis Bechtol (Cody Oravitz), Kyndra Chambers Hileman (Tristan) and Sarni Soltis; her great grandchildren, Jace, Aurora Chambers, Adam, Clara Goddard, Kaleigh Swart (Eban), Morgan Seivers (Daniel Lucas), Ella, Corbet Kobs, Presley, Lakyn Merkich, Cayden Chambers, Charter, Arbor Dugan and Madeline Coiro; and her great great grandchild Scarlet Swart.
