He was predeceased by: his parent Lacy Akers. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley May Gettier; his children, Robert Michael Akers (Beth), Christopher Wayne Akers (Cathy) and Diana Lynn Akers-Bass (Jason); and his grandchildren, Amber McGill, Lindsey Kulisiewicz, Justin Akers (Katie), Autumn Akers, Lauren Evans, Risten Akers, Ryan Akers and Luke Ballesteros. He is also survived by thirteen greatgrandchildren.
