He was predeceased by: his father John Joseph; and his son Ross Allen Litz. He is survived by: his wife Rena Householder Litz; his children, Resa Bilbie (David), Raymond Litz (Theresa) and T. Richard Litz Jr. (Ann); his brother John Litz (Patty); and his grandchildren, Shannon Glazier, Rebecca Viancourt (Andrew), Amanda Testa (Nicholas), Emily Lee (Jessica), Josh Bilbie (Brittany), Kirsten Litz and Rhiannon Litz. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
