With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Janet R. Detweiler of New Paris, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Janet left this world on October 8, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur McMillen and Ruth McMillen (Barefoot); her former husband Robert C. Detweiler; and her siblings, Charles McMillen, Richard McMillen and Sally Cuppett.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Ruggiero (Charlie) of Pittsburgh, Teresa "Terry" Hinson (late Jim) of New Paris and Craig Detweiler of Schellsburg; her grandchildren, Charlie Ruggiero (Jaclyn), Ryan Ruggiero (Niki Luu), Angela Thomas (Samuel), Breanne Fetsko (Eric) and Ty Hinson (Beth); her great grandchildren, Braden Thomas (Marissa), Kailyn Sabo (Josh), Taryn Thomas, Abbigail, Joseph Fetsko, Harper, Hattie Hinson and Charlie Ruggiero; her siblings, George McMillen of New Paris, James McMillen of Bedford and Patricia Worrell of Bedford; and her caregiver Mona Rhodes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home (214 S Juliana St, Bedford, PA 15522).
