He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bethea and Lucille Williams; his wife Phyllis Bethea; his children, Shantell Denise Bethea and William Clarence Bethea, Jr.; his great-uncle Robert Williams; and his sister Joyce C. Mitchell.
He is survived by: his daughter LaTonya Yvonne Bethea; his stepdaughters, Dawne Smashe-Boykin and Denise Jackson (Tony); his great-aunt Pauline Williams; his sibling's children, Tracy Jones, Jesse Jones III and Tommy Jones; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Patricia Battle, Karen Dabney, Mona Williams, Earl Battle and Frankie Williams. He is also survived by cousins, friends, and former coworkers.
