With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nancy Dunsmore of Newville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 10, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Swangren and Aline Swangren (Hamer); and her husband John. She is survived by: her children, Ellen Swigert (Robert) of Newville and Dr. Michael J. Dunsmore (Diane); her grandchildren, Casey Swigert of Newville, Matthew Dunsmore (Jessi Rhodes) of Jacksonville, FL, Timothy Dunsmore (Jeanette), Summer Bucher (Brandon) of Hershey and Tyler Dunsmore (Bri); and her great grandchildren, Sutton Swigert, Cynthia Ploughman, Breeze Bucher, Nova Dunsmore, Branson Bucher and Isaac Dunsmore.

Memorial donations in Nancy's honor can be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, 111 West Big Spring Avenue, Newville, Pa 17241.

“Nancy was my roommate at HUP and my Maid of Honor. We kept in touch over the years and when I didn't receive a Christmas card with a note, I worried about my dear friend. We also lost our husbands within a couple of months of each other. We spent much time together during nurses' training and I will cherish the memories we shared as friends. She was a gift in my life.
