He is survived by: his father Daniel Ballas; his wife Kristeen Whitney Ballas; his daughter Gabriella Ballas; his mother-in-law Catherine Whitney (late Joseph Whitney); his sisters, Catherine Ballas, Susan Olsen (Brian), Monica Lyon (Bart Sechrist) and Cynthia Snyder (late Jerry); his siblings-in-law, Joseph (Barbie), Shelley (Dave), Cathy and Tracy; his nieces and nephews, Corey (Brian), Collin, Benjamin (Marla), Tyler (Maddy), Joshua, Jeremy, Noah (Aranely), Deven, Cara (Thomas) and Mila (Jason); and his great-niece Yulia. He is also survived by family, his work family, and countless friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, Inc. (176 Clay Pike, Irwin, PA 15642). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Dan's name to the Team Gleason Foundation for ALS research.
